Valentine's day is upon us! Why not make a fun little craft the kiddos can give to their parents or loved ones (or parents help your little make this for your stellar nanny!)
Ages: All ages! For the younger children an adult should do the cutting of the hearts.
Prep time: 10 min
Craft time: around 20 min + drying time
Supplies: Leftover glass jar
A few different color pieces of tissue paper
(we used purple, pink, red, and white)
Modge Podge (we used matte because it's what we had)
Tea light candle (LED ones work great!)
Prepare: Line tissue paper up so each square is is directly on top of the next. Fold tissue paper 1 - 1 1/2 inches over. Cut the tissue paper along the natural edge that has been folded in. Accordion fold the tissue paper 1 inch each fold. Use scissors to cut heart shape into paper ending up with A LOT of hearts!
Make: Allow the child to use the foam brush to spread Modge Podge onto jar. (we found it easier to have them paint the glue on in small sections, rather than the whole thing at once.)
Add hearts onto the jar and help children to smooth them out flat.
You could stop here or add Modge podge on top for a shine. Also if you want to embellish this is when the glitter or pompoms or really anything to add some of your cuddles sparkle to the craft!
Allow to dry again and add a tea light!
Have you done this project?! Show us how it turned out #planetnanny
